NEW TEST CONFIRMS
FILCORTEX VEG is 3.3 times more efficient in the prevention of split ends compared to a benchmark formula with silicone.
Prevention of split ends
Objective:
Assessment of the formation of split ends in hair swatches by multiple abrasive combing and heat.
Methodology:
24 natural Caucasian hair swatches type II were bleached and pre-washed once with 1.2mL of a shampoo formula without conditioning agents and distributed in 4 tests groups.
- Group 1 was treated with 1.2ml of SLES 20% and kept as reference sample;
- Group 2 was treated with a placebo leave-on formula;
- Group 3 was treated with a benchmark leave-on formula with silicone;
- Group 4 was treated with a leave-on formula (same as placebo) with Filcortex VEG.
The wet swatches were treated with 0.6ml of corresponding formulas, the samples were massaged 3 times each side, combed and aligned.
After treating the swatches, the hair was immediately inserted in an Automatic Comber (BPLA 100) and brushed for 10,000 times. Brushing was performed with a hairdryer coupled on the equipment operating at maximum power.
After the brushing cycle, the swatches have undergone a process of counting of split ends with the help of a magnifying glass.
