Melon
RICH IN MUCILAGES, VITAMINS AND MINERAL SALTS
Melon is a creeping plant of the Cucurbitaceae family, Cucumis genus. The wild varieties of the melon plant were domesticated approximately 4,000 years ago in different regions of America and Asia and were of great importance in feeding the first populations to establish themselves in these areas. Today there are dozens of varieties of melons with different colors, flavors and appearances, which have emerged from an intense process of hybridization and selection, giving rise to the productive varieties and commercial fruits we know today. Melon is a fruit with a sweet and pleasant flavor, rich in mucilages, sugars, vitamins – among them Niacin or B3, which performs important functions for skin– bioflavonoids, in addition to mineral salts such as potassium, magnesium, calcium and manganese.
Functions
Melon is a fruit rich in moisturizing mucilages, vitamins, essential sugars, antioxidant bioflavonoids and mineral salts. FRULIX MELÃO (Melon) presents moisturizing, nutrient and protective properties, and is indicated in products for the treatment of dry hair and for conditioning and protection in ethnic products. The properties of the fruit also indicate FRULIX MELÃO (Melon) for skin products with nourishing and moisturizing appeal.
As a more concentrated product, FRULIX MELÃO (MELON) should be used in smaller concentrations than those used when making formulas with conventional extracts.
USAGE LEVELS
FRULIX MELÃO (Melon) is compatible with the majority of ingredients used in cosmetic formulations for the treatment of skin and hair, and may be incorporated cold, directly into the aqueous phase of the formulas, in accordance with the suggestions for concentration found in the table below. lt is stable at temperatures of up to 90 °C, in pH conditions from 4.00 to 11.00.
