New ingredients for the development of Carbomer-free cosmetic emulsions

The environmental impact of cosmetics is increasingly being taken into account by consumers. This concern has been extended from the visible pollution caused by empty plastic bottles to the ingredients use in the formulas.

Preparing environmentally-friendly cosmetic products is thus a major challenge to formulators.

Carbomers are synthetic polymers derived from acrylic acid, and are widely used in cosmetics and personal care products, and are washed off into the environment, together with all the components of the formula accumulating in the environment.

The Carbogreen Platform provides natural, 100 % biodegradable ingredients that replace Carbomers in cosmetic formulas, forming stable emulsions with an excellent skin feel.
