World Environment Day

News June 5, 2018

All cosmetics impact the environment. The most visible part of this impact is the packaging, but the pollution that nobody sees – and therefore the most dangerous – is within the formulas.

At the end, all creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, will somehow reach the environment. In other words, everything in the formulas will end in soils, rivers, lakes or seas.

Ingredients such as petrolatum, polyethylene microspheres and carbomers, for example, are not biodegradable.

Other components such as dyes, silicones, surfactants, neutralizers, preservatives, or sunscreens may also pose a risk to the environment.

The formulator is responsible for the environmental impact that his / her work can cause and, therefore, he / she must permanently seek alternatives that reduce the hidden pollution caused by cosmetics.

Assessa contributes to the development of sustainable cosmetics by offering natural and biodegradable ingredients to build a greener world.
