Lychee
Nutritive and moisturizing

Originally from the subtropical region of southern China (Canton Province), the first reference to the lychee (Litchi chinensis) dates back to the Han dynasty, 140 to 86 BC. Very popular in China, the cultivation of the fruit spread to the neighboring areas of Southeast Asia and islands close to the sea. From China, it was taken to India, Vietnam, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, South Africa and to Hawaii and Florida, in the United States, places that can be considered responsible for the spread of the fruit in the Western world. In Brazil, the lychee was introduced around 1810 in the Botanical Gardens of Rio de Janeiro, but many years passed before agricultural producers had commercial cultivation of the fruit in the country.

The lychee tree

The litchee tree, a medium-sized tree that can reach 15 to 20 meters in height, is the only member of the botanical genus belonging to the Sapindaceae family. The young leaves are bright red before turning green and the flowers are small, yellowish-white or white. At harvest time, a litchi tree can produce around 150 to 200 kg of fruit. The fruits, which are produced in bunches, are the size of a strawberry, with red skin and white pulp, gelatinous, translucent and with a pleasant aroma and sweet flavor, reminiscent of Italian grapes. Lychee is rich in vitamin C – in 100g of pulp there is 50mg – in addition to potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron.

Concentrated fruit

As it is a more concentrated product, FRULIX LICHIA (LYCHEE) should be used in lower concentrations than those normally used when formulating with conventional extracts.

FRULIX technology

FRULIX LICHIA (LYCHEE) is obtained through an exclusive biotechnological process that mimics the natural ripening of fruit. Using the fruits’native enzymes ASSESSA transforms it´s pulp into a crystalline liquid with all the active ingredients of the fruit, in concentrations equivalent to those found in nature. Is a highly concentrated ingredient produced WITHOUT THE ADDITION OF SOLVENTS.

Usage levels

FRULIX LICHIA (LYCHEE) is compatible with the majority of ingredients used in cosmetic formulations for the treatment of skin and hair, and may be incorporated cold, directly into the aqueous phase of the formulas, in accordance with the suggestions for concentration found in the table below. lt is stable at temperatures of up to 90°C, in pH conditions from 4.00 to 11.00.
